John Pacella Autographs
John Pacella born on August 9, 1949, is an American former pitcher in Major League Baseball. He played for five different teams during his professional career including New York Mets, Minnesota Twins, Texas Rangers, Toronto Blue Jays, and San Diego Padres. Pacella was selected in the ninth round of the Major League Baseball draft by the New York Mets in 1970. He made his major league debut with the Mets in 1977 and pitched for them for the next two seasons.
John Pacella always had an impressive pitching record, during his career in minor leagues, he recorded over 100 saves and had an ERA of 2.56. Pacella's best season in the Major league was in 1979 when he played for the Minnesota Twins, he had 13 saves and went 6-2 with an ERA of 2.92. However, in 1981, Pacella's baseball career ended early due to a shoulder injury, and he retired with a record of 15-18 in 221 games, with 22 saves and an ERA of 3.67.
After retiring from baseball, Pacella returned to his hometown in New York and started working in the construction industry. In 2017, he was inducted into the Northwestern Lehigh High School Athletic Hall of Fame for his outstanding career in baseball. John Pacella's career in baseball may have been short due to the injury, but he still remains a respected player with an impressive track record in both the minor and the major leagues.
