John Stearns, born in Denver, Colorado in 1951, was an American professional baseball player. Stearns began his baseball career during his college years at the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he played for the college's baseball team. In 1973, Stearns was then drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the first round of the MLB draft, but chose to sign with the New York Mets in 1974. More about John Stearns

Stearns made his Major League debut in 1975 as a catcher for the Mets. He played with the Mets until he was traded to the Kansas City Royals in 1984.
