John Wehner Autographs
John Wehner was a baseball player who played in the Major League Baseball from 1991 to 2001. He was born on June 29, 1967, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Wehner played as a third baseman and outfielder and spent most of his career with the Pittsburgh Pirates. He attended Indiana State University before being drafted by the Pirates in the 7th round of the 1988 MLB draft.
Wehner made his MLB debut on August 17, 1991, for the Pirates against the Houston Astros. He played for the Pirates for eight seasons, from 1991 to 1998. Wehner later joined the Florida Marlins in 1999 and played one season with the team. He then played for the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2000 before returning to the Pirates in 2001 to finish his career. During his career, Wehner played in 710 games, had a batting average of .249, with 6 home runs, 86 RBIs, and 100 runs scored.
After retiring from baseball, Wehner worked as a broadcaster for the Pittsburgh Pirates, providing commentary during games on the team's radio broadcasts. He was also a coach at the high school level for several years, coaching at his alma mater, North Hills High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Despite not having a distinguished baseball career, Wehner's determination and commitment to the sport have earned him respect in the baseball community, and his broadcasting career has helped him remain involved in the sport he loves.
