Jon Garland

Jon Garland was born in Valencia, California, in 1979. He began his baseball career at Kennedy High School in the San Fernando Valley, where he was a standout pitcher for the baseball team. After graduating in 1997, he was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the first round of the MLB draft. Garland spent the next several years working his way up through the Cubs' minor league system, eventually making his big-league debut in 2000. More about Jon Garland

Garland played for eight different teams during his 13-year career, but he is perhaps best known for his time with the Chicago White Sox, where he won a World Series championship in 2005. That season, Garland went 18-10 with a 3.50 ERA, and his performance in the postseason was instrumental in the team's success.

In total, Garland pitched in four different postseasons, with a combined record of 2-1 and a 4.75 ERA. After his playing career ended, Garland briefly worked as a broadcast analyst before transitioning to coaching, where he currently serves as the pitching coach for the Northwestern Wildcats baseball team.
