He began his baseball career at a young age and played in several youth leagues in the Netherlands. Schoop's talent did not go unnoticed, and he was eventually signed to play for the Baltimore Orioles at the age of 17.
Schoop's first Major League Baseball (MLB) appearance came in September 2013 when he was called up to the Baltimore Orioles.
