Jordan Zimmermann, born on May 23, 1986, in Auburndale, Wisconsin, is a former professional baseball pitcher. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and was selected by the Washington Nationals in the second round of the 2007 Major League Baseball Draft. Throughout his baseball career, Zimmermann played for several teams such as the Washington Nationals, Detroit Tigers, and Milwaukee Brewers. He was a two-time All-Star in 2013 and 2014, and in 2011, he threw the first no-hitter in the Nationals' history. After the 2015 season, Zimmermann signed a five-year, $110 million contract with the Tigers, which was one of the largest free-agent contracts in Tigers' history at that time. Zimmermann had an impressive career, but injuries ultimately led to his retirement from baseball in 2020.

Off the field, Zimmermann participated in several charity events and supported various causes, including the fight against childhood cancer. In 2015, he and his wife, Mandy, established the Dreamcatcher Foundation to support children diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses. Zimmermann's dedication to his profession and his philanthropic work both served as examples of his character and made him a beloved figure within the baseball community.
