Ramirez started his baseball career in the Dominican Summer League in 2009 signing with the Cleveland Indians as an amateur free agent. He worked his way through the minors and was called up to the Major Leagues in September 2013. Ramirez started as a utility player but quickly became a valuable player because of his defense and speed.
