Castillo spent the majority of his career as a catcher for the Arizona Diamondbacks, where he played from 1998 to 2002. During his time with the Diamondbacks, Castillo was a key player on the team's inaugural 1998 squad that won the National League West division title. He was known for his strong arm behind the plate and his ability to work well with pitchers.
