Keith Osik Autographs
Keith Osik is a former professional baseball player who played as a catcher in Major League Baseball (MLB) for 10 seasons. He was born on October 22, 1968, in Ravenna, Ohio, and attended Boardman High School in Boardman, Ohio, where he played baseball and American football. After high school, he attended Louisiana State University (LSU), where he played outfield and catcher for the LSU Tigers baseball team from 1988 to 1990.
Osik was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 24th round of the 1990 Major League Baseball draft. He made his MLB debut on April 7, 1996, with the Pirates and played for them until 2000. He also played for the Milwaukee Brewers in 2001, the Baltimore Orioles in 2002, and the Washington Nationals in 2005. Osik was known for his excellent defensive skills and was considered a superb backup catcher throughout his career. In his MLB career, he played in 594 games and had a batting average of .231 with 21 home runs and 149 RBIs.
After retiring from baseball, Osik went on to coach baseball at various levels. He served as a minor league coach for the Milwaukee Brewers from 2007 to 2011 and was the hitting coach for the Nashua Silver Knights in the Futures Collegiate Baseball League in 2013. He also coached youth baseball and served as an assistant high school baseball coach. As of 2021, Osik is the head coach of the Campbell Memorial High School baseball team in Campbell, Ohio.
