Ken Harrelson is a former Major League Baseball player and current broadcaster. Born in Savannah, Georgia in 1941, Harrelson spent his childhood playing baseball and had a standout career at Benedictine Military School. Harrelson’s career as a professional baseball player spanned from 1963 to 1971. He played for five different teams, including the Athletics, Boston Red Sox, Cleveland Indians, Washington Senators, and Atlanta Braves. He was known for his strong arm and defensive prowess in the outfield, earning a reputation as one of the best outfielders of his time.

In 1968, Harrelson earned an All-Star selection and finished ninth in MVP voting after hitting 35 home runs and knocking in 109 RBI for the Red Sox. His career ended prematurely at the age of 29 due to a severe shoulder injury, but he remained involved in the game as a broadcaster for the Chicago White Sox from 1982 to 2018.
