In 2008, Correia signed with San Diego Padres as a free agent, where he spent three seasons playing as a starter, mainly in the middle of the rotation. However, despite delivering a decent performance, he could not attain his peak form, and the team eventually traded him to Pittsburgh Pirates in 2011. Correia spent one season with Pirates, and in 2012, he signed with the Minnesota Twins, where he played two seasons before retiring in 2015. Overall, he played 366 MLB games, starting 235 of them and finishing his career with a win-loss record of 76-95 and an ERA of 4.62.

Since his retirement, Kevin Correia has remained active in baseball, working as a commentator and providing his insights on the Major League game. He has also coached at the high school level and has reportedly been considering pursuing higher coaching positions in the sports industry. Moreover, Kevin Correia continues to inspire young baseball players with his dedication, consistency, and hard work, which has cemented his position in baseball history, especially as an example of a hard-working player that never lost his love for the game.
