Kirk Nieuwenhuis Autographs
Kirk Nieuwenhuis is a former professional baseball outfielder who played in the Major League Baseball (MLB) from 2012 to 2019. Born on August 7, 1987, in Santa Monica, California, Nieuwenhuis grew up in Denver, Colorado, where he attended Denver Christian High School. He then went on to study at Azusa Pacific University and played college baseball for the Azusa Pacific Cougars.
Nieuwenhuis was drafted by the New York Mets in the third round of the 2008 MLB draft, and he made his MLB debut on April 7, 2012, with the Mets. In his first game, he hit a home run and became only the seventh player in MLB history to accomplish that feat. He played for the Mets for four seasons before he was traded to the Los Angeles Angels in 2015. He then played for the Milwaukee Brewers in 2016 and 2017, and he finished his career with the Seattle Mariners in 2019.
Throughout his MLB career, Nieuwenhuis had a batting average of .221, with 31 home runs, 98 RBIs, and 14 stolen bases. Besides playing in the outfield, he was also known for his versatility and ability to play multiple positions, including first base and second base. After retiring from baseball, he became a part of the coaching staff for the Colorado Rockies minor league system.
