Kory Casto Autographs
Kory Casto was born on December 8, 1981, in Salem, Oregon, and had a passion for baseball ever since he was young. He attended Centralia High School in Washington, where he was a standout athlete in both baseball and basketball. Kory then continued his baseball career at the University of Portland, where he became a three-time All-West Coast Conference selection and set numerous school records. In 2003, he was drafted by the Washington Nationals in the third round of the MLB Draft.
Casto spent six seasons in the Washington Nationals organization, playing at various levels in the Minor Leagues. In 2005, he was named the Nationals' Minor League Player of the Year after hitting .290 with 22 home runs and 81 runs batted in for the Double-A Harrisburg Senators. Kory then made his MLB debut on July 6, 2007, and played in 74 games for the Nationals that season. He hit .188 with six home runs and 23 RBIs in 217 at-bats. Kory played his final MLB game on September 27, 2008, and finished his career with a .174 batting average, seven home runs, and 30 RBIs in 91 games.
After his MLB career, Kory continued to play professional baseball in the minor leagues and internationally. He spent two seasons in the San Diego Padres organization before playing in independent leagues and overseas. Kory retired from baseball in 2014 and returned to his hometown of Yakima, Washington. He then became a baseball coach, starting as an assistant coach for the Yakima Valley Pippins in the West Coast League, and is now currently a hitting coach for the Washington State University baseball team.
