Kyle Gibson Autographs
Kyle Gibson is an American professional baseball pitcher who currently plays for the Texas Rangers in Major League Baseball (MLB). Born on October 23, 1987, in Greenfield, Indiana, Gibson attended Greenfield-Central High School and later enrolled at the University of Missouri. He was a standout athlete in high school with a 26-5 record and 1.69 ERA, earning the 2006 Indiana Mr. Baseball award. At college, Gibson continued to excel and was named a second-team All-American in 2009.
Gibson began his professional baseball career after the Minnesota Twins selected him in the first round of the 2009 MLB Draft. He worked his way up through the Twins' minor league system, making his MLB debut in 2013. Gibson became a part of the Twins' starting rotation, and in 2018 he recorded a career-high 188 strikeouts, a 3.62 ERA, and 10 wins. After seven seasons with the Twins, Gibson signed a three-year contract worth $28 million with the Texas Rangers before the start of the 2020 season.
Throughout his baseball career, Gibson has been recognized for his skills both on and off the field. He received the Jim Kaat Award in 2018 from the Twins for his excellence in pitching, and in 2019 he was also awarded the Minnesota Twins Heart and Hustle Award. Gibson is known for his strong mental approach to the game and has been an advocate for mental health support in baseball. Along with his successful baseball career, Gibson is a devoted husband and father to his two daughters.
