Len Barker was a former American Major League Baseball player born in Fort Knox, Kentucky, in 1955. He grew up in a military family and spent his early years in various locations. Barker was drafted in the second round by the Texas Rangers after he finished high school. Still, he decided to attend the University of Tennessee before signing with the Montreal Expos in 1973. Barker instituted himself as a top prospect with the Indians in the late '70s, and he made his big league debut in 1976. He pitched for the Indians from 1979 to 1983 and is best remembered for his May 15, 1981, no-hitter against the Toronto Blue Jays at Cleveland Stadium. Barker's no-hitter was the tenth in Cleveland Indians history.
