Lew Krausse was a professional baseball player who played as a pitcher in Major League Baseball (MLB) for 12 seasons between 1961 and 1974. He was born on April 25, 1943, in Media, Pennsylvania, and attended Temple University. Krausse started his professional baseball career in 1961 when he signed with the Kansas City Athletics. He made his debut in the same year and became the youngest player in American League history to pitch a complete game at the age of 18 years and 292 days. More about Lew Krausse

During his career, Krausse played for several teams, including the Athletics, Milwaukee Brewers, Boston Red Sox, and Atlanta Braves. He was known for his fastball and slider and had a career record of 68-91 with an ERA of 4.00. Krausse's best season was in 1966 when he won 14 games for the Athletics and was named an All-Star. He also had a career-high 165 strikeouts that season.

Krausse retired from baseball in 1974 and became a professional angler. He was inducted into the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame in 2005. Krausse passed away on April 21, 2020, at the age of 76. He will be remembered as a talented pitcher who had a successful career in Major League Baseball.
