Brinson was selected by the Texas Rangers in the first round of the draft, 29th overall, and began working his way up through the minor leagues. He made his major league debut on June 17, 2017, with the Rangers and played in 21 games that season. Brinson was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers in July of 2017, and he became a regular in their starting lineup in 2018. In his rookie season, Brinson found success at the plate, hitting 11 home runs and 42 RBI in 111 games, and finishing sixth in the National League Rookie of the Year voting.
