Nelson was the voice of several iconic baseball moments, including the 1969 Miracle Mets team that won the World Series. He also covered numerous All-Star games and World Series matchups. Nelson was known for his calm and steady demeanor while calling games, and his eloquent and descriptive style made him a beloved announcer by fans and players alike.
