Grace was selected by the Chicago Cubs in the 24th round of the 1985 amateur draft, and he made his debut on May 2, 1988. He quickly became a fan favorite and a mainstay at first base for the Cubs for most of the 1990s. He was known for his excellent defensive skills, winning four Gold Glove awards, and his hitting ability, winning three Silver Slugger awards. He was also an All-Star three-time, and he finished in the top ten in NL batting average seven times. In 2001, Grace moved to the Arizona Diamondbacks, where he won a World Series with the team in 2001, his only championship in his career. At the end of his career in 2003, he was ranked 74th in MLB history in doubles and 94th in hits.

In addition to his playing career, Grace also served as a broadcaster for the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Chicago Cubs. He was arrested for driving under the influence in 2012, and he was sentenced to four months in prison in 2013. Despite this, he returned to the broadcasting booth in 2018 for the Diamondbacks and remained with the team until 2020. Today, Grace is remembered as one of the best first basemen of his generation and a beloved figure in Chicago and Arizona baseball lore. Read even more about Mark Grace at Wikipedia
