Mark Zagunis Autographs
Mark Zagunis is a professional baseball player who was born on February 5, 1993, in Willingboro Township, New Jersey. He attended Holy Cross School in Delran Township and later attended Virginia Tech University, where he played college baseball for the Virginia Tech Hokies. During his college career, Zagunis made a name for himself as an exceptional player who could hit for average while also showcasing his excellent defensive skills. He recorded a career batting average of .323 and was named to the All-ACC team twice.
Zagunis began his professional baseball career in 2014 after being drafted in the third round by the Chicago Cubs. He made his debut for the Cubs' Arizona League affiliate that year and quickly showed that he was ready for more challenges. He quickly climbed through the Cubs' minor league system, playing for the top-level Iowa Cubs in 2018. That same year, he was added to the Cubs' 40-man roster, signaling his arrival as a player who could potentially make a big-league impact.
In 2019, Zagunis made his Major League debut for the Cubs, where he appeared in 20 games, recording six hits and three runs batted in. Despite a relatively low batting average in his brief stint in the majors, Zagunis showed flashes of the skills that had made him one of the Cubs' top prospects. He has continued to play for the Iowa Cubs in the Cubs' minor league system, where he continues to sharpen his skills and improve his game with the hope of returning to the Major Leagues in the future.
