Matt Downs Autographs
Matt Downs is a former professional baseball player who played in the Major Leagues for six seasons. Born on March 19, 1984, in Tuscon, Arizona, Downs always had a passion for baseball, which he pursued throughout his high school and college years. After graduating from Shelton State Community College in Alabama, he was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the 2006 Major League Baseball draft.
Downs made his major league debut with the San Francisco Giants in 2009 and played with them for two seasons. In 2011, he played for the Houston Astros, where he was a utility infielder and hit a game-winning home run against the St. Louis Cardinals. He continued his career with the Astros for two additional seasons before signing with the Miami Marlins for the 2014 season. Despite a slow start, Downs bounced back and hit a walk-off single against the Philadelphia Phillies. In 2015, he played for the Chiba Lotte Marines in Japan before retiring from baseball the following year.
Throughout his career, Downs was known for his versatility as an infielder and his ability to hit clutch home runs. His career batting average was .230, and he had 19 home runs and 79 runs batted in. Despite not being a star player, Downs' dedication and hard work earned him respect among his teammates and coaches, and he remains a beloved figure among baseball fans to this day.
