Michael Brooks Autographs
Michael Brooks is a former American football linebacker who played professionally in the National Football League (NFL) for eight seasons from 1987 to 1994. Brooks was born on December 15th, 1966, in Shreveport, Louisiana. He started his football career as a standout player at Louisiana Tech University, where he was a three-time All-Southland Conference selection and a two-time All-American in 1984 and 1985. Brooks was also named the Southland Conference Defensive Player of the Year in 1984 and 1985.
Brooks was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the third round of the 1987 NFL Draft. He quickly became a dominant linebacker in the league, earning All-Rookie honors in his first season. He spent four seasons with the Broncos before joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1991, where he played for three seasons. He finished his NFL career with the New York Giants in 1994. Brooks was widely regarded as one of the best linebackers of his era, known for his speed, toughness, and hard hits. He was a two-time Pro Bowl selection in 1991 and 1992 and was named an All-Pro in 1992.
After retiring from football, Brooks became a successful businessman, operating his own tax and financial services company in Denver, Colorado. He also worked as a football analyst for ESPN and CBS, sharing his expertise and insights with fans across the country. In 2011, Brooks was diagnosed with ipsilateral brainstem infarct and later died on June 23, 2011, from complications related to the illness. He was remembered for his incredible talent on the football field and his contributions to the game. Brooks was inducted into the Louisiana Tech Athletics Hall of Fame in 1999 and the Denver Broncos Ring of Fame in 2016, cementing his legacy as one of the greatest football players in history.
