Michael Saunders Autographs
Michael Saunders is a Canadian former professional baseball player who was born on November 19, 1986, in Victoria, British Columbia. He began playing baseball at a young age and was scouted by the Seattle Mariners in 2004 after playing in the U-18 World Championships. Saunders was selected by the Mariners in the 11th round of the 2004 Major League Baseball Draft and began his professional career with the Everett AquaSox.
Saunders spent his first few years in the minor leagues before making his major league debut with the Mariners in 2009. He played with the Mariners until 2016 when he was traded to the Toronto Blue Jays. Saunders' best season came in 2016, where he was selected to the MLB All-Star Game and posted career-best numbers with a batting average of .253, 24 home runs, and 57 RBIs. He also hit a career-high 32 doubles.
Despite his success with the Blue Jays, Saunders' career took a downward turn, bouncing around various teams in the ensuing years, including the Philadelphia Phillies, the Baltimore Orioles, and the Kansas City Royals. After playing in several baseball leagues internationally, Saunders announced his retirement from professional baseball in May 2021. Over his career, Saunders batted .232 with 51 home runs, 186 RBIs, and 405 hits in 775 games.
