Cochrane played for the Tigers for nine seasons, from 1927 to 1935. During this time, he helped lead the team to three American League pennants and two World Series championships. He was a seven-time All-Star and won the AL Most Valuable Player award in 1934. In addition to his impressive offensive statistics, Cochrane was known for his outstanding defensive skills behind the plate. He was known for his ability to call a good game and work well with his pitchers, as well as his quick reflexes and strong arm.

Unfortunately, Cochrane's career was cut short by a devastating injury. In 1937, he was hit in the head by a pitch from Yankees pitcher Bump Hadley, which caused a skull fracture and nearly killed him. Although he did return to play for one more season, his career was never the same, and he retired from baseball in 1939. Despite his relatively short career, Cochrane was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1947, and he remains a beloved figure among baseball fans and historians to this day.
