Mike Bordick Autographs
Mike Bordick is a retired professional baseball player who played for several teams during his career in Major League Baseball. He was born on July 21, 1965, in Marquette, Michigan. He started his baseball career as a shortstop for the Maine Black Bears in college. He was then drafted by the Oakland Athletics in 1986 and began his professional career in Minor League Baseball. Bordick's Major League debut came on September 3, 1990, with the Athletics.
Mike Bordick's baseball career spanned 14 seasons, during which he played for six different teams. Throughout his career, he was known for his exceptional fielding abilities, winning four Gold Glove Awards. He played primarily as a shortstop for most of his career, but also played as a second baseman and third baseman for some of his teams. In 2000, Bordick was very instrumental in helping the New York Mets to the National League pennant but lost to the Yankees in the Subway Series.
Bordick retired as an active player in 2003, finishing his career with 1,720 hits, 302 doubles, 100 home runs, and a .260 batting average in over 1,700 games played. After retiring, Bordick went on to work as a baseball analyst, and later as a coach for several teams in the major and minor leagues. His contributions to the game earned him induction into the Maine Sports Hall of Fame in 2008.
