Mike Cubbage Autographs
Mike Cubbage was a professional baseball player who played for the Major League Baseball. Born in Arlington, Virginia in 1950, Cubbage was drafted by the Washington Senators in 1971. He played for the Minnesota Twins from 1974 to 1979 and for the Texas Rangers from 1980 to 1981. Throughout his baseball career, Cubbage was known for his versatility as he played multiple positions, including third base, second base, and the outfield. He was primarily used as a utility player, and his contributions helped his teams become successful during his tenure.
Cubbage began his minor league career in 1971 and made his major league debut for the Senators in 1974 as a third baseman. His best year came in 1977 when he batted .279 with 14 home runs and 74 runs batted in for the Twins. He was also a key contributor for the Twins during the 1979 postseason, batting .400 with a homer in the American League Championship Series against the California Angels. After the 1981 season, he retired from the MLB with a career batting average of .258, 54 home runs, and 280 RBIs.
After leaving the MLB, Cubbage coached in the minor leagues for several years before managing in the independent leagues. He was the manager of the St. Paul Saints from 1993 to 1994, leading the team to the Northern League Championship in 1993. Cubbage's contributions to baseball as a player and coach have made him a respected figure in the world of baseball. Today, Cubbage spends his time as a hitting coach and living in the Twin Cities area.
