Mike Diaz Autographs
Mike Diaz is a former professional baseball player who dedicated his life to the sport. He was born on November 5, 1965, in San Diego, California. In high school, he was a star pitcher for the Grossmont High School baseball team, which led him to be scouted by multiple Major League Baseball (MLB) teams. Diaz was drafted by the California Angels in the third round of the 1983 draft and began his professional career in 1984 as a pitcher.
Diaz spent seven years as a pitcher in the minor leagues before making his major league debut in 1991 with the Milwaukee Brewers. Over his nine-year major league career, he played for four teams, including the Philadelphia Phillies, and San Diego Padres. Diaz was known for his versatility as he played multiple positions, with his primary position being a relief pitcher. He contributed strongly to the Padres in their National League Championship season in 1998, where he earned 7 saves and a 3.28 ERA.
After retiring from baseball, Mike Diaz went on to become a minor league manager, leading teams in the Texas Rangers' organization. He continued to pass on his knowledge and love for baseball to young athletes. Diaz is fondly remembered by many for his commitment to the sport and his immense dedication towards his team, which he brought to every game. Today, Diaz remains passionate about baseball and continues to be involved in the game by participating in charity events and coaching youth teams.
