Mike Dunne Autographs
Mike Dunne is a former Major League Baseball (MLB) pitcher, born on June 27, 1962, in South Bend, Indiana. Dunne attended Bradley University in Illinois where he played baseball for the Braves. He was a standout pitcher in college and was eventually drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the first round of the 1984 MLB Draft.
Dunne made his MLB debut in 1987 for the Pirates and spent three seasons with the team. In 1990, he was traded to the San Francisco Giants where he would have the best season of his career. Dunne went 13-6 with a 3.03 ERA and helped lead the Giants to the National League pennant. He also made three starts in the World Series that year, including a win in Game 3 against the Oakland Athletics.
After his standout season with the Giants, Dunne struggled with injuries and spent time with the Milwaukee Brewers and Cleveland Indians before retiring in 1993. Over his seven-year MLB career, Dunne had a 50-59 record with a 4.08 ERA and 488 strikeouts. Despite his relatively short career, Dunne will always be remembered for his incredible performance in the 1990 season, where he played a crucial role in helping the Giants reach the World Series.
