Mike Kelly Autographs
Mike Kelly is a former Major League Baseball outfielder who was born on June 2, 1970, in Los Angeles, California. He attended Bishop Amat High School in La Puente, California, where he played baseball and football. Kelly was a highly touted prospect and was selected by the Atlanta Braves in the first round of the 1991 Major League Baseball draft. He spent four seasons in the minor leagues before making his Major League debut with the Braves in 1994.
Kelly played for five different teams during his nine-year Major League career, including the Atlanta Braves, Cincinnati Reds, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Colorado Rockies. He was known for his speed and athleticism, as well as his strong throwing arm. In 1995, he won a National League Gold Glove Award for his outstanding play in the outfield. Kelly also had a solid offensive career, hitting .242 with 63 home runs and 247 runs batted in.
Despite his talent on the field, Kelly's career was plagued by injuries, which eventually led to his retirement in 2004 at the age of 34. After his playing career, Kelly worked as a hitting coach in the minor leagues and also coached at the high school level. He remains involved in the game of baseball and is remembered as a talented player who had the potential to be one of the greats if not for his injuries.
