Mike Nickeas Autographs
Mike Nickeas is a retired professional baseball player who spent several years in the Major League Baseball (MLB) as a catcher. He was born on February 13, 1983, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Nickeas played high school baseball in Georgia before attending Georgia Institute of Technology, where he played for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets from 2002 to 2004. He was then drafted in the fifth round of the 2004 MLB draft by the Texas Rangers.
Nickeas made his MLB debut on September 4, 2010, for the New York Mets. In his rookie season, he played in 13 games and recorded five hits in 26 at-bats, with two doubles and an RBI. He continued to play for the Mets until 2013, although he spent most of his time in the minor leagues. During his time with the Mets, he was known as a solid defensive catcher and a good teammate. After his time with the Mets, Nickeas played briefly for the Toronto Blue Jays and the Los Angeles Dodgers organizations before retiring in 2015.
Off the field, Nickeas has been involved in various charitable organizations, including the Lupus Foundation of America and a children's hospital in his hometown of Vancouver. He has also been a guest instructor at baseball camps and clinics, sharing his knowledge and experience with young players. Nickeas currently resides in Georgia with his family and works as a broadcast analyst for Georgia Tech baseball games on the ACC Network Extra.
