Shannon is one of a handful of players who have spent their entire careers with the Cardinals. Shannon was a member of three National League pennant-winning teams and two World Series winning teams in 1964 and 1967. In the 1964 World Series, Shannon recorded 8 hits in 29 at-bats, including two home runs, and drove in 4 runs to help the Cardinals win their first championship in 18 years.
