Mike Thurman Autographs
Mike Thurman was born on February 5th, 1976 in Corvallis, Oregon. He began his baseball career early on and showed promise as an exceptional talent. Thurman attended Oregon State University and was a standout pitcher for the Beavers, going 20-11 with a 3.09 ERA over three seasons. In 1996, he was selected by the Montreal Expos in the 2nd round of the Major League Baseball draft.
Thurman made his Major League debut in 1997, pitching for Montreal. He had a solid rookie campaign, going 9-6 with a 3.68 ERA over 26 games. The following season, he had another strong showing, going 8-12 with a 3.94 ERA. However, Thurman struggled in 1999, going 3-7 with a 6.52 ERA over 17 games. He was eventually demoted to the minor leagues and would spend the next few years bouncing between the majors and minors, struggling with consistency.
Thurman retired from professional baseball in 2006 and returned to his alma mater, Oregon State University, to complete his degree. He now works as a real estate broker in Corvallis, Oregon. Despite his struggles later in his career, Thurman still had a successful Major League stint, finishing with a 37-36 record and a 4.73 ERA. His early success showed promise of what could have been if he had maintained his form consistently.
