Mike Tyson

Mike Tyson was born on June 30, 1966, in Brooklyn, New York City. He grew up in a low-income neighbourhood and was frequently involved in street fights as a child. However, he was spotted by trainer Cus D'Amato in 1980 and began training with him. Under D'Amato's guidance, Tyson developed his skills and quickly made a name for himself in the boxing world. Tyson's most significant accomplishments came in the late-'80s and early-'90s, during which he became the youngest heavyweight boxing champion ever at the age of 20 in 1986. He was a ferocious force in the ring, described by some as having "blinding speed and power." Tyson won an astounding 50 of his 58 professional bouts, with 44 of those wins coming via knockout. Tyson's success made him one of the biggest stars in the world of sports, with fights attracting massive pay-per-view audiences and being watched by millions worldwide.

Although Tyson's career had its share of highs, including the successful defense of his championship titles, it also had several lows, including his conviction for rape in 1992, which led to a three-year prison sentence. After his release in 1995, he resumed his career and later became the first heavyweight boxer to hold the WBC, WBA, and IBF titles simultaneously. In 2005, Mike Tyson retired from boxing having fought some heavyweight legends, including the likes of Evander Holyfield and Lennox Lewis, and became an icon in the sport, inspiring a generation of boxers to follow in his footsteps.
