Mike Zunino Autographs
Mike Zunino is an American professional baseball catcher, who currently plays for the Tampa Bay Rays in Major League Baseball (MLB). He was born on March 25, 1991, in Cape Coral, Florida. Zunino attended the University of Florida from 2010 to 2012, where he played college baseball for the Florida Gators. He was a finalist for the Dick Howser Trophy and the Golden Spikes Award in 2012, as he had an outstanding performance during his junior year.
In 2012, the Seattle Mariners drafted Zunino in the first round, as the third overall pick. He made his MLB debut in 2013, and became the Mariners' starting catcher in the 2014 season. Zunino became known for his exceptional defensive skills, as well as his power hitting. In 2017, he hit a career-high 25 home runs in 124 games, and was named the Mariners' MVP. However, he struggled offensively in 2018 and was eventually traded to the Rays in 2019.
Since joining the Rays, Zunino has continued to display his impressive defensive abilities, while also contributing offensively. In the 2020 playoffs, he helped lead the Rays to the World Series, hitting two home runs in the American League Championship Series. Zunino has become an integral part of the Rays' roster, known for his toughness and leadership. As of 2021, he has a career batting average of .199, with 78 home runs, 218 runs batted in, and a career fielding percentage of .994.
