Mitch Canham Autographs
Mitch Canham was born on September 25, 1984, in Lake Stevens, Washington. He is a former baseball catcher who played for the Beavers baseball team at Oregon State University from 2004 to 2007. During his college career, he contributed to the two national championships that the team won in 2006 and 2007. Canham was known for his defensive skills as a catcher, and he was named to the All-Pac-10 team twice.
After his college career, Canham was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the supplemental first round of the 2007 MLB draft. He started his professional career in the minor leagues, playing for several teams in the organization, including the Portland Beavers, Lake Elsinore Storm, Fort Wayne Wizards, and San Antonio Missions. Though he was primarily known for his defense, Canham also showed his ability with the bat, hitting .303 in the 2010 season with the Fort Wayne Wizards.
In 2011, Canham left the Padres organization and signed with the Washington Nationals, though he did not make it to the major leagues with the team. He spent the next few years playing in various independent leagues, including stints with the Bridgeport Bluefish, New Jersey Jackals, and Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks. Canham retired from professional baseball in 2014, and he is now a college baseball coach, serving as an assistant coach for the Oregon State Beavers, where he won two national championships as a player.
