Norm Zauchin was an American professional baseball player who played from 1951-1960. He was born in Royal Oak, Michigan on November 17, 1929, and played as a first baseman for the Boston Red Sox from 1951-1956. Zauchin's best year in Major League Baseball came in 1955 when he hit 27 home runs, 76 runs batted in, and had a batting average of .239. He was selected to represent the American League in the 1955 All-Star game, and his impressive performance in the game helped him earn the Most Valuable Player award. In June of that same year, he made history by hitting three home runs, including a grand slam, and driving in 10 runs in a single game against the Washington Senators.

In 1960, Zauchin was traded to the Washington Senators and played for them until he was released in 1968. He finished his career with a lifetime batting average of .228, hit 79 home runs, and tallied 298 RBIs. He also played in 803 games, with 2,388 at-bats, and 177 runs scored. After his baseball career ended, he worked for a printing company and lived in Royal Oak, Michigan, until he passed away on March 14, 1999, from complications related to heart surgery.
