Born on January 9, 1959, in Evergreen, North Carolina, Nixon made his MLB debut for the New York Yankees on April 10, 1983. Throughout his 17-year career, Nixon played for several teams, including the Atlanta Braves, Cleveland Indians, Boston Red Sox, Montreal Expos, Texas Rangers, Toronto Blue Jays, and Minnesota Twins.
