Borders played for the Blue Jays from 1988 to 1994, where he helped the team win its first World Series championship in 1992. During the 1992 World Series, he hit .450 with one home run, two doubles, and three RBIs in six games and was named the World Series MVP. Borders played for several teams after leaving the Blue Jays, including the Los Angeles Dodgers, Kansas City Royals, Houston Astros, Seattle Mariners, St. Louis Cardinals, and San Francisco Giants.
