Patrick Corbin was born on July 19th, 1989, in Clay, New York. He attended Cicero-North Syracuse High School, where he excelled in both baseball and basketball. After graduating in 2007, Corbin was drafted by the Los Angeles Angels in the second round of the MLB draft but opted to attend college instead.
Corbin attended Mohawk Valley Community College and then transferred to Chipola College in Florida. In 2009, the Arizona Diamondbacks selected him in the second round of the draft. He began his professional career in the minor leagues, playing for various teams before making his major league debut for the Diamondbacks in 2012. Corbin quickly became a key member of their pitching staff and was named to the All-Star team in 2013.
Over the years, Corbin has established himself as one of the top left-handed pitchers in the game. He is known for his signature slider, which has been described as one of the best pitches in baseball. In 2018, he signed a six-year, $140 million contract with the Washington Nationals, where he continues to pitch at an elite level.
