Pedro Ramos Autographs
Pedro Ramos was a Cuban pitcher who enjoyed a successful baseball career in the major leagues. He was born on April 28, 1935, in Pinar del Rio, Cuba, and began his career in his native country before moving to the United States to play for the Senators. He played for 15 seasons in the major leagues, starting his career as a reliever and later becoming a starting pitcher. During his long career, Ramos played for several teams, including the Senators, the Indians, the Twins, the Yankees, the Phillies, and the Reds.
Ramos was known for his excellent pitching skills, particularly his fastball and his slider. He was a hard thrower who could strike out batters with ease. He was a two-time All-Star and was also named the American League's Fireman of the Year in 1959. Throughout his career, he won 117 games and saved 88 games, with a lifetime ERA of 4.08. His best season came in 1960 when he posted a 14-12 record with a 3.70 ERA and 148 strikeouts.
After his playing days ended, Ramos went back to Cuba and continued to work in baseball as a coach and manager. He remained involved in the game until his passing at the age of 73 in 2003. Throughout his career, Pedro Ramos was a respected baseball player who left a lasting legacy on the game. He was a talented pitcher who could dominate on the mound and was always a fierce competitor. His achievements in baseball will always be remembered as a testament to his skill and dedication to the game.
