Frias started his professional career in 1972 when he signed with the Milwaukee Brewers organization. However, he didn't make it to the major leagues until 1977, when he played in 39 games for the Brewers. In 1978, he joined the Montreal Expos and played in 70 games. He spent the rest of his playing career in the minors, playing for various teams until 1985.

Frias was known for his excellent defense, particularly his range and agility at shortstop. He was also a switch-hitter, which made him a valuable asset to any team. Despite not having a long career in the majors, Frias was widely respected in the baseball world for his skill and work ethic. After retiring as a player, he went on to become a coach and instructor, passing on his knowledge and experience to the next generation of players. Read even more about Pepe Frias at Wikipedia
