Phil Regan

Phil Regan, born in Otsego, Michigan in 1937, is a former pitcher and coach in Major League Baseball. He began his professional baseball career with the Detroit Tigers in 1960 and played for them until 1965 before moving to the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1966. Regan's career continued with stints with the Chicago Cubs, the Chicago White Sox, and the Milwaukee Brewers before retiring in 1972. More about Phil Regan

Regan's best years were with the Dodgers where he won 14 games in 1966 and saved 21 games in 1968. After his playing days, Regan became a pitching coach and manager. As a pitching coach, he worked with the Cleveland Indians, the New York Mets, the Cincinnati Reds, the Baltimore Orioles, and the Boston Red Sox. Regan also spent several years as a minor league field coordinator with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

In 2018, Regan returned to baseball as the interim pitching coach for the New York Mets at the age of 81. He had previously served as the Mets' pitching coach from 1999 to 2000. Regan's longevity and success in baseball as a player, coach, and manager make him a respected figure in the sport.
