Phil Roof was an American baseball player born on March 5, 1941, in Paducah, Kentucky. He began his professional baseball career in 1961, signing with the Milwaukee Braves as an amateur free agent. After a few seasons in the Braves' system, Roof was traded to the Minnesota Twins in 1964, where he played the bulk of his career. More about Phil Roof

Roof was primarily a catcher and known for his defensive skills. He played in 1,012 Major League games, with a career batting average of .215, hitting 46 home runs and driving in 196 runs.
