Preston Gomez was a Mexican-American former professional baseball player, coach and manager, born on April 20, 1923, in Central Jita de Cuervo, Sonora, Mexico. He began his career in 1944, playing for the St. Louis Cardinals farm system. However, his playing career was short-lived, as he only appeared in 13 games in the minor leagues.
