Rafael Palmeiro is a former Cuban-American professional baseball player who is best known for his career with the Texas Rangers and the Baltimore Orioles. He was born on September 24, 1964, in Havana, Cuba. In 1985, he was drafted in the first round by the Chicago Cubs and began his professional career the following year.
