Randy Choate's professional career began in 1997 when he was drafted in the fifth round by the New York Yankees. He played for the Yankees for four years before moving on to play for the Montreal Expos, Arizona Diamondbacks, Tampa Bay Rays, Los Angeles Dodgers, St. Louis Cardinals, and finally, the Miami Marlins. Randy's specialty was as a left-handed relief pitcher, and he holds the record for most appearances without a start in MLB history with 672 career games.

Throughout his career, Randy Choate was known for his consistency and reliability on the mound. He retired in 2016 at the age of 40, with an impressive career ERA of 3.90 and 1007 strikeouts.
