Despite his quirks, Katt was a reliable presence for the Giants, helping anchor their defense and supporting the team's strong pitching staff.
After retiring from baseball, Katt worked in several different business ventures, including running a liquor store and owning a motel. He also remained connected to the game, working as a scout for the Houston Astros and as a coach for various minor league teams. Katt passed away on March 31, 1999, but his legacy as a talented and dedicated baseball player lives on through his contributions to the sport.
