Rey Quinones Autographs
Rey Quinones is a former professional baseball player who was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, in 1963. He played as a shortstop for two seasons with the Seattle Mariners (1986-1987) and two seasons with the Pittsburgh Pirates (1989-1990). Quinones was known for his strong arm and great defensive skills, making him a valuable player in the infield.
Quinones entered the Major Leagues with the Seattle Mariners in 1986 and immediately made an impact with his exceptional fielding abilities. He played in 147 games that season, hitting .257 with six home runs and 46 runs batted in. Quinones was named the Mariners' Defensive Player of the Year for his efforts. In 1987, he continued his strong play, hitting a career-high .274. However, a knee injury limited his playing time and he was eventually traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1989.
While with the Pirates, Quinones continued to be a consistent player on defense. He only played in 72 games in 1989 due to injuries, but he made the most of his opportunities when he returned to the field, hitting .264 with a career-high 9 home runs. In his last season in the majors, he hit .250 in 41 games, while continuing to be a reliable defender. After retiring from baseball in 1992, Quinones worked as a coach in Puerto Rico before becoming an actor in Hollywood.
