Rich Amaral Autographs
Rich Amaral is a former American professional baseball player who played as a second baseman and outfielder in Major League Baseball (MLB). He was born on April 1, 1962, in Visalia, California, and attended the California State University Fullerton. He was first drafted in the 3rd round of the 1983 MLB draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates but opted not to sign. Three years later, the Seattle Mariners drafted him in the 2nd round of the 1986 draft and Amaral signed with the team.
Amaral made his MLB debut with the Seattle Mariners on September 2, 1991, at the age of 29. Over his 9-year career in the major leagues, he played for the Mariners, Baltimore Orioles, and Los Angeles Dodgers. Amaral was a versatile player who could play both infield and outfield positions. He was known for his speed and base-stealing ability, stealing 71 bases over his career. In 1997, he posted a .354 batting average in 188 at-bats and helped the Mariners reach the postseason. Amaral retired from baseball after the 2000 season with a career batting average of .276, 4 home runs, and 146 RBIs.
After his playing career, Amaral became a coach and worked for the Los Angeles Angels, Seattle Mariners, and San Diego Padres. He also served as a broadcast analyst for Mariners games. He was inducted into the Cal State Fullerton Athletic Hall of Fame in 2016 for his outstanding achievements in baseball. Amaral's professional baseball journey was successful and inspiring, and his dedication and hard work have made him a respected figure in the sport.
