Rich Dauer Autographs

Rich Dauer is a former professional baseball player, coach, and manager. Born on July 27, 1952, in San Bernardino, California, he grew up playing baseball and football at Ontario High School. At the University of Southern California, he played baseball and helped the team win the 1973 College World Series. The Baltimore Orioles drafted him in the first round of the 1974 Major League Baseball draft, and he made his debut in the MLB in 1976.
Dauer played second base for the Orioles and was known for his exceptional defensive skills. He played for the team for ten seasons and was a key part of the 1983 World Series Championship team. In the deciding game of the Series, he hit a bases-loaded single that brought in two runs and helped his team win the game 5-0. Dauer played his final season of baseball in 1985 for the Detroit Tigers and retired with a .257 batting average, 84 stolen bases, and 54 home runs.
After his playing career ended, Dauer became a coach and manager for several teams. He served as the first base coach for the Milwaukee Brewers from 1992 to 1995 before joining the Houston Astros as a bench coach. He was a coach for the Astros from 1996 to 2001 and spent his final season with the team as interim manager. In 2002, he became the manager for the Albuquerque Isotopes, the Triple-A affiliate of the Florida Marlins. Overall, Dauer had a successful baseball career as both a player and coach.
